AP Art Concentration 2019

Project type

ceramic sculpture

Date

2019

Location

North Vernon, IN

This collection of work is from the AP Art class I took my senior year of college. It includes several small size pieces all of which were designed to exude the emotion I was feeling in the moment of creation. They do not necessarily fit in the category of stereotypical "beauty," but each is unique and above all interesting to the viewer. Some might describe them as disturbing or otherworldly, but their rather ordinary names give them more of a personable feel (at least to me!).

Most of the pieces are made with air-dry clay (besides Edgar and Edi which was made from fired raku clay). Each piece is detailed with acrylic paint, and some include various found objects to emphasize their form.

Four pieces from this body of work received 2 gold stars and 2 silver stars from the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in 2019.
