Gaylor Electric Capstone Project

During my internship with Gaylor Electric in the summer of 2022, I was an Associate Project Engineer working with and under other design engineers, gaining valuable online drawing and design skills as well as receiving a comprehensive education of electrical components and wiring from a designer's view.

While at Gaylor, I had the opportunity to complete a Capstone project that benefited the company and incorporated my own interests. For our project, my partner and I produced a complete redesign of the engineering department located in the Innovation Center in Noblesville, Indiana where we worked. Most of the office space went unused. It was closed off, quiet, and made for a very unproductive environment. It was not ideal for the collaborative nature the office should be. Before we began, we conducted research into office design, what makes a positive workplace environment, and most of all, the desired changes of the employees that work in the office every day. Ultimately, our design included a new floor layout plan, an added bathroom, and an improved collaborative workplace environment.
